I have been most interested in your programs on music. While we were teaching in a Christian school , my husband and i became concerned about the so called contemporary music that was being used in the programs and in the church service. We talked with the those in authority about our concern.
However, the next year, we asked that our two children not participate in a program because of the music. We had told them that we would not be back the following year, but two months before the end of the school year, we were called in and told if we could not support the music program of the school, then we could not continue to teach the rest of the year. (just two months left)
Most folk did not know why we were fired and the rumors flew. It was difficult to leave the school children so abruptly. It was also, difficult to get work because of the having to put on the resume . It was a difficult time.
[This was in the 80's. Understand that this is a short version)
We continue to find Christians are divided when it comes to music. If we say that we can not participate in an activity because of the music, they are offended.
When the children were at home, we would turn down the music on commercials if necessary. and feed their minds with good music. Even listening to classic music there are times when our daughter will say,'that is nervous music' and turn it down. We have called folks in stores and them that we left because of the music. It is not always possible, but we try to give them discernment on what is wholesome music. It gets harder and harder as the years go by and i cannot say what kind of discernment my grandchildren will have. I do know that i learned some of the older hymns from hearing my grandchildren sing them from memory and that gives us great joy.
Just some thoughts.
Thank you for bringing this topic.
Sincerely,
Laura

So many parents are hurting today due to the destructive behaviors of their teenagers. Parents are afraid of their own kids, and of the local authorities. It's refreshing and encouraging to hear it is "okay" to discipline my child as God has intended us as parents to do so.

Our family is so pleased that you have a radio show. We will be listening every week. Trace your message is something everyone needs to hear! My nephew attended Shepherd's Hill Farm. We can not express what life changing experience it was not only for him but for our entire family. We thank God for the work he is doing at the Discipleship Camp!
